Ridle Baku could choose on of Chelsea or Arsenal as his new club
Falk has disclosed that the two London clubs had previously discussed a potential deal. However, the Premier League clubs might face some competition for La Liga’s Villarreal.
“Ridle Baku of Wolfsburg got the call from Arsenal,”
“The Gunners are interested in the German player who can play right-back and right-wing.”
“But they’re not alone in their interest, as Chelsea made a call themselves during the winter window. Villarreal also want to make a bid this summer.”
This season, Ben White has been preferred as Arsenal’s regular right-back, while Takehiro Tomiyasu has also been used. However, with Cedric Soares poised to leave after his loan term with Fulham ends, Arsenal are likely to sign a new right-back.
Meanwhile, Chelsea reinforced their right side of defence in the January transfer window. As the Blues acquired Malo Gusto from Lyon before loaning him back to the French club.
Chelsea might yet recruit another full-back with Reece James injury issues and Cesar Azpilicueta’s contract expiring in 2024.
Villarreal’s interest may be contingent on their ability to retain Juan Foyth, who has been linked with a move to Barcelona.
