Report: Bayern Munich joins race for Liverpool’s Fabinho?

Liverpool ‘give green light to Fabinho, Jordan Henderson exits’

If transfer of Fabinho to Al-Ittihad falls through, Bayern Munich are said to be interested in signing him.

Fabinho’s five-year affiliation with Liverpool are poised to end this summer, despite having three years left on his contract.

According to a recent source, he has accepted personal terms with Al-Ittihad, who are continuing their recruitment campaign after signing N’Golo Kante, Jota, and Karim Benzema.

The Saudi club is thought to be in talks with Liverpool about a deal after submitting a £40 million proposal for Fabinho.

Fabinho is expected to join the Saudi Pro League this summer, although there is still the possibility that he will move elsewhere.

Bayern Munich, according to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, are interested in bringing Fabinho to Germany and are actively following his position.

Liverpool are hoping to complete Fabinho’s transfer to Saudi Arabia soon, but Thomas Tuchel’s side will be waiting in the wings if the mooted sale falls through.

The Bayern Minich hierarchy is said to have a good relationship with the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, which could help in future discussions.

The Brazilian use to play a key part in Jurgen Klopp’s team, making a total of 49 appearances across all competitions.

He has played in 219 competitive games for the club since signing in the summer of 2018, contributing 11 goals and 10 assists.

During his time at Liverpool, the 29-year-old has won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, EFL Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup.

Fabinho is expected to join Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita, and James Milner as the next Liverpool midfielder to leave this summer.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is also set to leave after the Reds agreed to a £12 million deal to Steven Gerrard’s Al Ettifaq.
