Liverpool willing to meet Alexis Mac Allister salary demands

Alexis Mac Allister to Liverpool

Liverpool are reportedly willing to triple the wages of Alexis Mac Allister in order to recruit the Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder this summer.

The Reds are planning to rebuild their midfield during the summer transfer window, with many players expected to leave.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita, and James Milner are all set to leave at the conclusion of the season when their contracts expire.

Their exits will free up space in the engine room, allowing Liverpool to pursue their midfield targets.

Mac Allister has been a standout for Brighton this season, and his exploits have piqued the interest of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who appears eager to recruit the World Cup champion.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool have already begun working on the deal and have contacted the player’s agent in order to propose a tempting contract offer.

According to the source, the Merseyside club is willing to triple Mac Allister’s current weekly salary to more than £150,000.

The Reds are getting increasingly confident that they will be able to reach an agreement with the Argentina international, who is said to be eager to move to Anfield.

Liverpool would still have to agree on a fee with Brighton, who will be in a strong negotiation position due to Mac Allister’s contract predicament.

The 24-year-old’s contract has two years remaining, but Brighton have the option of extending it for another year.

Mac Allister has been a key player for Brighton this season, scoring 10 goals and assisting on two others in 35 competitive appearances.

The midfielder scored against Everton on Sunday, but it was a disappointing evening for the Seagulls, who were defeated 5-1 at the Amex Stadium.

Roberto De Zerbi’s squad is still in the chase for European football, sitting seventh in the Premier League rankings with five games remaining.
