Man United have reportedly added Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo of Brighton to their summer transfer wishlist.
Erik ten Hag’s team is anticipated to target the recruitment of a big-money centre-forward.
While at least one new midfielder is also expected to arrive at Old Trafford this summer. Since joining last summer, Christian Eriksen and Casemiro have shown to be wise purchases,
While Marcel Sabitzer has also played regularly after joining on loan from Bayern Munich in January. However, it is uncertain whether Sabitzer’s loan move will be converted into a permanent signing.
Also, Scott McTominay is being widely linked with a move away, with interest from West Ham and Newcastle United.
The Red Devils are reported to be serious contenders to recruit Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, but the England international may prove too pricey if they spend big on one of Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen, or Randal Kolo Muani.
Man United to make a move for Caicedo once again this summer
Closer to home, The Telegraph reports that Brighton duo Caicedo and Mac Allister are also targets for Manchester United, with the former was expected to sign a deal in 2021.
Caicedo, who made his name with Ecuador’s Independiente del Valle, was linked with a move to Old Trafford two years ago, but the Red Devils ultimately decided against it.
Caicedo instead joined Brighton for for €5 million (£4.4 million), and he has quickly adapted to the rigours of English football, scoring twice and assisting three times in 42 outings across all competitions.
In January, the 21-year-old was at the centre of a whirlwind transfer story in which he expressed his intention to quit the club on social media as Arsenal attempted to entice him away from the Amex.
Brighton rejected two bids from Arsenal, as the Seagulls briefly dismissed Caicedo from their team before suddenly tying him down to a new contract until the conclusion of the 2026-27 season.
Caicedo’s new deal is unlikely to prevent potential suitors, and Brighton may still be willing to sell for the right price, but Man United will almost certainly be quoted a figure in excess of £70 million.
The Seagulls are unlikely to accept summer proposals from Arsenal, who ignored warnings to back off in January, giving Manchester United an early advantage in the hunt for Caicedo as the Gunners focus their efforts on signing Declan Rice from West Ham United.
Meanwhile, Mac Allister, the Argentine World Cup champion, has regained his scoring touch in the current Premier League season, hitting eight goals in 25 games as Brighton’s race for Europe continues.
