Manchester United have been advised that Monaco would demand a fee of £40 million to split ways with Axel Disasi this summer. The Red Devils are looking to strengthen their defence this summer as Erik Ten Hag looks to increase the squad depth.
Meanwhile, several Man United players expected to leave the club this summer to free up spaces for the newcomers. Since the arrival of Lisandro Martinez last summer, Harry Maguire has lost his starting spot for Man United.
Despite holding a contract through 2025 with a one-year extension option, Maguire may leave in pursuit of regular playing time. Victor Lindelof, who has fallen down the pecking order, may also leave this summer.
While Phil Jones, Eric Bailly, and Axel Tuanzebe are not in Erik ten Hag’s plans for next season. After being impressed by his performances for Monaco this season, the Red Devils have identified Disasi as a potential summer target.
According to a recent rumour, the 20-time English champions are leading the hunt to capture him ahead of Manchester City and Chelsea. The France international has two years left on his current deal, but Monaco are willing to trade him for the appropriate price.
According to Football Insider, Man United has been informed that a £40 million bid is required to capture Disasi’s services.
According to the sources, United consider Disasi, along with Napoli center-back Kim Min-jae, to be one of their main defensive targets.
Disasi has been a key member of Monaco’s squad this season, appearing in 42 games across all competitions and producing six goals and four assists.
The 25-year-old has also started 30 of Monaco’s 31 league games this season, assisting his team to fourth place in Ligue 1.
On Thursday evening, Manchester United will meet Sevilla in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final contest.
