Cristiano Ronaldo ‘to return to Europe before retiring’

Ronaldo will return to Europe

Rudi Garcia, the manager of Al-Nassr, has guaranteed that Cristiano Ronaldo will visit Europe before hanging up his football boots.

Following an inflammatory interview with Piers Morgan on TalkTV in which he attacked several parts of the team, including manager Erik ten Hag, Ronaldo’s contract with Manchester United was terminated in November.

The Portugal international was rumoured to be eager to sign with a European team in order to compete in the Champions League. But after a lacklustre performance in the 2022 World Cup, where he made just five appearances and managed just one goal, he made the free transfer decision to join Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

The 37-year-old signed a huge contract that will last until June 2025 and is reportedly earning up to £177 million annually. However, Ronaldo has failed to score in his two games for Al-Nassr.

But he did net twice for a Saudi All-Star XI in a 4-3 friendly loss to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month.

In his first competitive game for the team, Ronaldo defeated Ettifaq by a score of 1-0 in the league, but his second game resulted in a 3-1 loss.

Ronaldo will be back in Europe before he parts his ways with football according to Rudi Garcia

After the Saudi Super Cup semifinal loss against Al-Ittihad, the manager of Al-Nassr predicted that Ronaldo would complete his career in Europe.

According to Sport, Garcia said:

“Cristiano Ronaldo is a positive addition as he helps disperse defenders.”

“He’s [Ronaldo] one of the best players in the world. He won’t finish his career at Al-Nassr, he’ll go back to Europe.”

Ronaldo has previously participated for Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus in four different European nations.

Throughout his career in Europe, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner won numerous awards, including league championships in England, Spain, and Italy.

If Ronaldo plays in Friday’s away league match against Al-Fateh, he will be hoping to score his first goal for Al-Nassr.

Al-Nassr now lead the Saudi Pro League standings by a razor-thin one point after accruing 33 points from 14 games.
