HIPSA to start rolling out Pravasi Sports Leagues, Pravasi Owners to own teams

HIPSA PRAVASI SPORTS

The Holistic International Pravasi Sports Association(HIPSA), the International body for Youth Pravasi Bharati Sports activities, is all set to begin its operations. The Annual Calandar of all Sports activities to be held in 2024 has been finalized, and the activities cover a wide range of sports competitions with an eventual target to tap diaspora youth residing in around 207 countries of the World.

Confirmed sources have revealed that MOU’s are being signed with various global bodies, and a world wide training of Pravasi Bharati women in indigenous sports, is also on the agenda. Expressions of Interests are also being called for to all those interested in owning teams across different sports.

Sports like Cricket, Football, Kabaddi, Chess etc have been on HIPSA’s agenda. It is believed that team owners for all Pravasi Sports Leagues shall preferably be of Pravasi Bharati origin, and hence interested parties are being contacted outside India.

While HIPSA’s mandate is primarily to hold all Pravasi Bharti competitions in India, it is also open to holding these competitions in countries with high Indian diaspora population. Countries like USA, UK, Middle East are the ones with a large Indian diaspora community and may be the chosen ones for some of the competitions conducted by HIPSA.

The hunt for a Title Sponsor for ‘Pravasi Sports’ should also be commencing shortly, and it is believed that the Title sponsor would be a ‘Made in India’ product, which could be showcased globally.

The Holistic International Pravasi Sports Association, is a not for profit entity, set up with a vision to integrate our diaspora youth from their ‘Karmabhumi’ to their ‘Mathrubhumi’ through the medium of Sports.

Ms Kanthi D Suresh, is the currently the President of HIPSA.
