IPL 2022: LSG vs RCB – Team News, Predicted Lineup & Match Preview

LSG vs RCB

The Indian T20 League is moving along quickly. It is now time for game number 31 and it will see Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) locking horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Both teams are coming off victories in their previous games and have had a good start to the IPL 2022 season. Lucknow produced a fantastic performance against Mumbai Indians in their previous match, ticking all of the boxes. With eight points from six games, they are currently in the second position in the standings.

The arrival of Dinesh Karthik, on the other hand, has proven to be a boon for the RCB, as he has been producing world-class innings. They have a fantastic bowling lineup, with Glenn Maxwell averaging four overs on most days, and this could be their year to win it all. With eight points from six games, they are currently in third position in the standings.

The two teams are in the top 4 and to remain in the upper half, both will certainly give everything on the field.

LSG vs RCB – Match Details

Match #31

Venue: Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai

Date & Time: 19th April at 7:30 PM IST and Local Time

Live Streaming: Star Sports Network and Disney+Hotstar

Pitch Report

The pitch at DY Patil is expected to provide a lot of support to the batters as seen in the tournament. The previous game at the venue saw a score of 151 easily chased down.

However, based on the results thus far, any score above 170 will be difficult to chase down. Since determining the winning score on the wickets has been tricky thus far, the captain who wins the toss is likely to bowl first.

Top Performer

Royal Challenger Bangalore

Since returning to the RCB playing XI, Glenn Maxwell has been in excellent form, making a key half-century in the last game to maintain the side scoring at a high rate. Despite wickets tumbling around him, the right-hander batted aggressively from the outset of his innings, hitting 55 off just 34 balls with seven fours and two sixes.

Lucknow Super Giants

KL Rahul became only the second player in the tournament to achieve a century. In the previous match against Mumbai Indians, he scored 103* runs off 60 deliveries and was named Player of the Match. In six matches, he has scored 235 runs at an average of 47 and a strike rate of 144.17.

Predicted XI

Lucknow Super Giants: Quinton de Kock (wk), KL Rahul (c), Deepak Hooda, Manish Pandey, Ayush Badoni, Marcus Stoinis, Krunal Pandya, Jason Holder, Avesh Khan, Dushmantha Chameera, Ravi Bishnoi

Royal Challenger Bangalore: Anuj Rawat, Faf du Plessis (c), Glenn Maxwell, Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Shahbaz Ahmed, Wanindu Hasaranga, Suyash Prabhudessai, Josh Hazlewood, Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj
