Kohli, Jadeja toil hard in nets ahead of Asia Cup 2023

Asia Cup 2023 - Team India net practise

The Asia Cup 2023 is just around the corner; the main event will go off on August 30 with Pakistan and Sri Lanka co-hosting.

Furthermore, the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team is working hard to put in their best performance in the competition before departing for Sri Lanka.

It should be noted that India is now in a practise camp in Alur, Karnataka, where the team is hard at work and attempting to improve their batting performances through a series of hard-hitting drills and match simulations.

Several Indian cricketers were seen participating in batting workouts in a video that became popular on social media recently.

During the drills, Ravindra Jadeja and Virat Kohli were photographed confronting spin bowling as both players attempted to make logical shots. The viral video has been making the rounds on social media.

In terms of team India’s assignments, the team will open its Asia Cup 2023 campaign on September 2nd, when it will face arch-rivals Pakistan. The match will take place at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.

India will want to get off to a good start in the tournament, and there is no better way to do it than by defeating Pakistan in the first game.

Sri Lanka will enter the tournament as the defending champions, having won the main event in T20 format in 2022. However, due to the upcoming ODI World Cup, the competition will be played in ODI format in 2023.

The Asia Cup 2023 will also serve as solid preparation for the World Cup, which will begin on October 5 and will be entirely hosted by India.

The Indian team kicks up their World Cup campaign against Australia on October 8 in Chennai. India will be going into the mega tournament as one of the favorites with the home conditions in their favor.
