Manchester United suffers injury blow as forward could miss several weeks

Manchester United Marcus Rashford injury

Manchester United are allegedly concerned that Marcus Rashford’s injury may keep him out for several weeks. The England international suffered the injury against Everton on Saturday.

During the 2022-23 season, the 25-year-old has been in fantastic form for the Red Devils, Rashford has scored 28 goals and registered 10 assists in 47 games across all competitions this season.

However, the forward did not score against Everton at Old Trafford, but he did provide an assist for Martial’s goal. The Red Devils academy product was replaced in the 81st minute in the game against The Toffees.

Thereafter, he proceeded straight down the tunnel to undergo treatment for what appeared to be a groin problem. According to The Sun, Man United will be without Rashford for the first leg of their Europa League semi-final against Sevilla.

However, there is a real possibility that the Englishman may be out for several weeks. Thus, this would be a tremendous loss for a squad that is still seeking silverware in three tournaments.

Man United are in the QF of the Europa League and the semis of the FA Cup, and they can technically still win the Premier League. At the moment the Erik Ten Hag led side is placed fourth in the table, 17 points behind leaders Arsenal.

Manchester United boss concerned about Marcus Rashford’s injury

After the match against Everton, Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag expressed concern about the potential seriousness of the problem at this stage of the season.

The Manchester United players have been out from Carrington for the past two days, but they will return on Tuesday to prepare for the match against Sevilla.

As a result, Rashford’s injury will be fully evaluated on Tuesday, with Ten Hag anticipated to deliver an update during his press conference on Wednesday.

The 20-time English champions still have six Premier League games left before the end of the month, beginning with a trip to Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

The Red Devils will next travel to Sevilla for the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final before facing Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup semi-finals.

The month will conclude with matches against Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Rashford’s future at Old Trafford is still up in the air, with his current contract set to expire next summer, although Man United are reportedly hopeful of offering him to a new term soon.
