Manchester United to drop their Interest in Spurs striker Harry Kane

Harry Kane to Manchester United

Manchester United are reportedly considering discontinuing their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur center-forward Harry Kane, since the club is unwilling to overpay for the England captain.

The 29-year-old has been in superb form for Spurs this season, scoring 28 goals and contributing five assists in 46 games across all competitions.

Spurs are presently sixth in the Premier League table, six points behind fourth-placed Manchester United, who have a game in hand. Kane will conclude the season without a trophy, and Tottenham are also certain to miss out on a spot in the 2023-24 Champions League.

The Englishman is only under contract with Spurs until the summer of 2024, prompting speculation that he could be sold during the forthcoming transfer window.

Kane, on the other hand, has intimated that he is willing to stay with his North London club for another season in order to assist them end their trophy drought.

Man United backed out from Harry Kane pursuit

According to reports, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will not sell the Englishman to a Premier League rival this summer under any circumstances.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have long coveted Kane, but neither is a genuine contender for his signing this summer, and Bayern Munich appear to have been priced out of a deal.

The major interest is presently coming from Manchester United, but the 20-time English champions are considering withdrawing their interest before the transfer season even opens, according to The Sun.

According to the source, Levy would demand more than £100 million for Kane if the player indicated a willingness to leave, and the Red Devils are afraid of being drawn into a lengthy transfer saga due to their need for a new center-forward.

Victor Osimhen of Napoli and Randal Kolo Muani of Eintracht Frankfurt have also been linked with moves to Old Trafford during the summer transfer window.

However, neither Napoli nor Frankfurt are expected to sell their key players in the forthcoming market, forcing Man United to search elsewhere.

Rasmus Hojlund of Atalanta BC and Mohammed Kudus of Ajax have both been connected with moves to Old Trafford, and a recent rumour stated that the club was preparing a record deal for Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos.

Man United are said to have made no clear plans for the summer window at this point, with head coach Erik ten Hag unsure of the amount of his budget due to the uncertainty surrounding the ownership situation.

The Red Devils have yet to confirm a top-four spot in the Premier League league, and are now fourth, one point ahead of fifth-placed Liverpool with a game in hand.
