Paris Saint-Germain closing in on Chelsea playmaker?

Hakim Ziyech to PSG

Hakim Ziyech, a winger for Chelsea, is rumoured to be on the verge of joining Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) before Tuesday’s transfer deadline. The 29-year-old has had a contrasting season for club and nation, frequently fighting for playing time at Stamford Bridge but shining for Morocco at the World Cup.

Ziyech played a significant part in the Atlas Lions’ run to the semi-finals, when they lost to France. This is despite the fact that he struggled to get minutes prior to the tournament in Qatar.

Ziyech has been a consistent starter for Chelsea since his comeback from the injuries, Thus, during the opening three weeks of the year, the Morocco international has made six appearances.

Nevertheless, Ziyech’s future has remained a contentious subject of discussion. Ever since players like Noni Madueke, Mykhaylo Mudryk, and Joao Felix all joined Chelsea, Ziyech’s position looks under threat.

Everton had surfaced as a prospective destination after a deal to AC Milan was reportedly held up by his pay demands, though it was unclear whether the former Ajax player would contemplate moving to Goodison Park.

PSG to be the next destination for Hakim Ziyech?

However, a move to the Parc des Princes is now anticipated, according to L’Equipe and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. According to reports, Ziyech has already agreed to personal terms with PSG as he seeks a fresh challenge at this point in his career.

Although there are rumours that the two clubs are still in talks, Chelsea has to raise money to strengthen their FFP position.

Even though Ziyech’s contract has two and a half years left on it, efforts to close a trade within the next 24 hours are unlikely to be hampered by that fact.

If all goes according to plan, Ziyech will transfer out of Chelsea having made 98 appearances across all competitions and contributed 14 goals and 11 assists.

However, only six goals and seven assists have been recorded in 56 top-flight games, with 23 of those appearances coming from the bench of substitutes.

Although there may be further activity in the market on Tuesday, from PSG’s perspective, they are effectively replacing Pablo Sarabia, who has joined Wolverhampton Wanderers.
