Manchester United are reportedly making headway in their pursuit of Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.
Since his efforts for Morocco at the 2022 World Cup, the Moroccan international has been on the radar of a number of Europe’s elite teams.
However, after assisting the Atlas Lions to the semi-finals in Qatar, he was compelled to stay at Fiorentina, who had received no acceptable bids.
The 26-year-old was also necessary in the club’s Europa Conference League attempt, which failed after I Viola fell in the final against West Ham United.
With Fiorentina’s option to extend Amrabat’s contract by another year, he effectively has two years left on his deal at Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Nonetheless, the Italian leadership is said to recognize that this summer will be the greatest opportunity to cash in on the signing of one of their important players.
Barcelona, assuming they can find the finances for a proposal, remains an option for Amrabat, who was linked with a move to Camp Nou at the start of the year.

However, according to Violanews, United have come a step closer to signing Amrabat by agreeing on personal terms with the midfielder.
Transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano has contested that development, but Amrabat is believed to have a fan at Old Trafford in head coach Erik ten Hag.
Amrabat had his first senior football opportunity while playing for FC Utrecht with Ten Hag, and his skills earned him a move to Feyenoord.
As things stand, it is unclear what sum Fiorentina will seek if they decide to sell, but United are understood to be looking for a new midfielder.
Despite the fact that Mason Mount is on the verge of joining United from Chelsea, another defensive-minded alternative is needed to work alongside or deputise for Casemiro.
United are also rumoured to be interested in cashing in on Fred, who has only a year left on his contract and has publicly stated that he is evaluating his future at the Theatre of Dreams.
