Arteta Lacazette

After the player stated he had initiated conversations with “a number of clubs,” Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has urged Alexandre Lacazette to focus on the Gunners.

The 30-year-old will be out of his contract with the London Club and will become a free agent this summer. Thus, the Frenchmen is free to negotiate terms with other clubs interested in getting his services.

However, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has urged Alexandre Lacazette to focus on the Gunners as he still is under a contract with the London club.

Arsenal boss Arteta said

“The contracts start and end with the expiry date that you have agreed on that day that you put the pen down,”

While Speaking to Canal Plus earlier in the week, Lacazette said he was “missing” playing in the Champions League.

This season Arsenal were not involved in any European completion as the gunners finished 8th in their previous season.

However, this time the London club is competing with Tottenham and Man United to finish in the top 4. But, three consecutive defeats have harmed Arsenal’s chances of finishing in the top four and qualifying for the Champions League.

Meanwhile, Since Arteta dismissed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from the captaincy in December, Lacazette has led Arsenal.

The Frenchmen also said he had “never cut contact” with Lyon, who he left to join Arsenal five years ago.

Now, it looks like Lacazette will be on his way out of Arsenal after the end of this season.

What’s next for Mikel Arteta and Alexandre Lacazette ?

Arsenal are currently competing for a spot in the Top 4 of the Premier League table. With seven games remaining, the Gunners have a game in hand and they sit three points behind 4th-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

As of now, Arteta’s team will make a trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on Wednesday night. While Lacazette still remains to be the key men for Arteta in the frontline.
