Bayern Munich to make a move for Jadon Sancho in January?

Sancho to Bayern

Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho during the January transfer window, given the player’s uncertain future at Old Trafford.

The 23-year-old is in his third season with the Red Devils after joining from Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund for £73 million in the summer of 2021.

Sancho has now made 82 appearances for United, scoring 12 goals in a two-year span, but his future game time may be jeopardized due to a recent spat with head coach Erik ten Hag.

The winger was left out of Man United’s matchday squad for their 3-1 loss to Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, with Ten Hag claiming that the player’s performances in training had not met the acceptable criteria.

On social media, Sancho quickly responded to his Dutch coach, claiming that he had been made a “scapegoat” in recent times when the team’s performances had been poor.

Bayern Munich, according to Fichajes, are emerging as competitors to bring Sancho back to the Bundesliga in January, with his future at Manchester United presently in doubt.

According to the report, the German champions have been in communication with the 23-year-old England international over the summer, indicating that the player is aware of Thomas Tuchel’s interest in him.

The Bavarian giants feel a deal with the Red Devils could be made for as little as €50 million (£42.8 million), despite Sancho joining Old Trafford for £73 million just two seasons ago.

The Bundesliga champions are apparently optimistic that the winger can find his form at the Allianz Arena, where he will be surrounded by offensive superstars like Harry Kane.

Sancho scored 50 goals in 137 appearances for Dortmund between 2017 and 2021, with the Englishman contributing 33 goals in the 2019-20 Bundesliga season.

Last season’s Premier League output of six goals and three assists in 26 games is the closest the 23-year-old has come to matching his Dortmund output since arriving at Old Trafford in July 2021.

Separate rumours earlier this week stated that Sancho could be kicked out of the Red Devils squad for publicly attacking the club’s head coach, Ten Hag, on social media.

After failing to establish himself as a regular starter for Manchester United, the former Manchester City teenager has not been selected for a senior England squad since November 2021, ensuring he will miss the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

After the season’s first international break, the Red Devils will resume their Premier League campaign on September 16 when they host Europa League-bound Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford.
