Indian fast bowler out injured will miss entire Test series against Australia

Jasprit Bumrah ruled out for Australia Test series

In a big setback for India, Jasprit Bumrah is certain to miss the entirety of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at home against Australia. Back pain struck Bumrah in August 2022. He did, however, make a comeback in September 2022.

The Indian pacer played two T20Is against Australia at home during that time. Although he was forced to take a significant absence from the sport as his ailment resurfaced.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) apparently does not want to risk Bumrah with the ODI World Cup. The 13th edition of the Cricket’s biggest tournament is set to take place later in the month of October-November.

Bumrah was anticipated to return by the third Test of the four-match series, but is now ruled out of the entire series. Since his fitness levels were unknown, the right-arm fast bowler was also withdrawn from the Sri Lankan series.

The ODI series took place in January 2023 and the management decided not to use Bumrah. Thus, keeping him fully healthy for the 50-over World Cup.

This decision was made for the same reason why he was pulled from that series.

Jasprit Bumrah might return in the ODI series vs Australia

Bumrah was also selected for India’s T20 World Cup team, but Mohammed Shami took his position.

Bumrah’s availability for the ODI series against Australia has not yet been decided, according to a report by the Telegraph, and his prospects of playing remain slim.

The Telegraph quoted sources as saying:

“Bumrah has been undergoing full-tilt bowling sessions at the NCA for the past few days and has pulled up well. There has been no stiffness the following day, which is the most encouraging part for him,”

Bumrah is now honing his white-ball techniques at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. He has additional time for recovery after a break from the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

Although the Men in Blues doesn’t really seem like they are missing the 29-year-old. As Team India dominated Australia on the 1st day of the 1st Test in Nagpur yesterday.

The Aussies were knocked out for a total of just 177. While India looked in a good nick with the captain Rohit Sharma leading from the front.
