The auction for 2020 IPL will be held in Kolkata on December 19, and it will have 971 cricketers in the fray, out of which 713 will be Indians and 258 overseas. The auction will see 215 players who are capped, and 754 uncapped. All cricketers to fight for the 73 spots currently available.
The IPL Player Registration closed on November 30 and the franchises can submit their final list till December 9, which will comprise the Players auction list.
Hugh Edmeades will again be the auctioneer this year for IPL 2020, with players coming from the following nations:
Afghanistan (19), Australia (55), Bangladesh (6), England (2) Netherlands (1), New Zealand (24), South Africa (54), Sri Lanka (39) USA (1), West Indies (34) and Zimbabwe (3).
It is a cricket carnival not only for the subcontinent fans, but IPL has also taken over as a global cricket event and a parameter to gauge a cricketer’s credibility.
