Germany defeated the Lionesses 2-1 in the international friendly at the packed Wembley Stadium. The 28-year-old Alexandra Popp stunned more 77,000 fans at the Wembley Stadium after scoring the opener inside the first 10 minutes. The former Manchester City forward Nikita Parris missed a chance to find the equalizer with the help of a penalty. However, her former teammate from the Blue half of Manchester Ellen White presented her class perfectly.
The smell of a draw was very near – but the away side had some different plans. The 18-year-old Klara scored a late goal to kill the match 2-1. Well, we would like to thank all for backing the Lionesses at the Wembley Stadium as making women’s football bigger and better should be our primary aim.
