Manchester United confirms pre-season schedule under Erik ten Hag

As part of their preparations for the 2022-23 season, Manchester United will visit Bangkok, Melbourne, Perth, and Oslo this summer for their pre-season fixtures.

The Red Devils will soon start their new era under the guidance of the Dutchman and their new manager Erik ten Hag and they will now be looking forward to competing with the likes of Liverpool & Manchester City from the next season.

Let’s have a look at the upcoming fixtures for Manchester United in the 2022-23 pre-season.

Manchester United 2022-23 pre-season fixtures

The Red Devils will kick off their pre-season with a match against English rivals Liverpool in Bangkok on July 12 at the Rajamangala Stadium.

The 20-time English champions will then travel to Melbourne, Australia, to face Melbourne Victory in the A-League on July 15. Adding to the same venue, Man United will next face Crystal Palace of the Premier League on July 19.

The Red Devils will face Aston Villa at the Optus Stadium four days following their match against Palace. Erik ten Hag’s team will then finish their pre-season preparations on July 30 against Atletico Madrid.

With the new Premier League season beginning one week later on August 6, United will be all set with a new squad built by the Dutchman.

Man United will formally begin pre-season training on June 27, according to Ten Hag. While leaving those who will be representing their country next month will return at a later date.

Meanwhile, Man United lost their final two Premier League matches of the 2021-22 season to Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace. But the Red Devils still finished sixth in the table, ensuring that the club will compete in the Europa League group stage next season.

Last Sunday’s 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace was attended by the club’s new head coach, who has now officially taken over from Ralf Rangnick.

In 2021-22 season, United finished 6th in league, advanced to the 4th round of the FA Cup the 3rd round of EFL Cup, and the last-16 stage of the Champions League.

The club’s major goal next season, according to Ten Hag, will be to return to the Champions League for the 2023-24 season.
