Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are said to be interested in signing Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
The 22-year-old is reaching the end of his second season at Selhurst Park, where he has made 71 Premier League starts.
Because of that amount of game experience, the former Chelsea kid has developed into an England international and is expected to go to a bigger club in the future.
Guehi’s contract runs until 2026, thus Palace are in a solid position to keep him for at least another season.
Much will, however, depend on the amount of attention the left-sided centre-back receives during the summer.
Man United and Tottenham are both keeping an eye on the situation, according to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna.
Manchester United looks more likely to sign Guehi
During the forthcoming transfer window, both Premier League clubs will need to make big defensive acquisitions.
With Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire’s futures in doubt, United will most certainly need at least one new face in the middle of their defence.
Spurs are looking for first-team starters as a result of their troubles in defence during the 2022-23 season.
Although the North Londoners are still without a permanent head coach, chairman Daniel Levy understands that he cannot afford to wait until one is appointed before identifying summer targets.
Arsenal has been linked with an attempt for Guehi in recent weeks as they prepare for a return to the Champions League.
Aouna adds that Palace are open to a transaction if the price is right, despite the fact that they will more than treble the £18 million they spent in 2021.
Nonetheless, due to the inclusion of a sell-on provision in the agreement that brought Guehi from West to South London, Chelsea will reportedly earn a percentage of any transfer revenue.
