Barca striker Rivaldo feels that Barcelona should start taking care of Lionel Messi – he counselled that Argentine star should rest and spend some time on the bench also.
Messi, who completed his first 90 minutes of the season for Barcelona in midweek and helped them fight back to beat Inter Milan in the Champions League, but Rivaldo suggests the Argentine star must not be rushed.
The 32-year-old has gone through a frustrating campaign with a foot injury that has left them fourth in La Liga. He is still recovering from that injury and trying to be in tune.
However, manager Ernesto Valverde knows how important Messi is to Barca’s prospects and it would be really tough for them to leave him on the bench, but Rivaldo counselled that Barcelona should consider Messi resting and he must not be rushed back.
