The highest-paid Australian athlete, Ben Simmons made international headlines after he posted a video on his Instagram page in which he claimed he was prohibited from entering the Crown Casino in Melbourne because of his color.
However, the video post was quickly deleted, the alleged reason for deleting the video seems to be related to state government’s tourism entity, which has paid the athlete to promote Victoria on his social media.
Visit Victoria confirmed it via a statement that it did have an arrangement with the basketballer.
Visit Victoria in a statement said, “Visit Victoria has a standard commercial arrangement with Ben Simmons to utilize his international profile in promoting Victoria to a global audience. The agreement contains standard obligations, and payments are only triggered when certain milestones are met.”
