Three clubs who could sign Cristiano Ronaldo in this January

Ronaldo could move out of United this January

The Portuguese international’s time at Manchester United is coming to an end, and many believe Ronaldo will depart the club during the January transfer window. Before the 37-year-old gave an interview to Piers Morgan criticising the club, including head coach Erik ten Hag and the owners, there was already talk about his future.

Even though Ronaldo has undoubtedly played his final match for Manchester United, he is still under contract with the 20-time English champions through the end of the 2022–2023 season.

There is a chance that the forward will be available for free at the start of 2023 because a recent report suggested that the Red Devils may try to fire him owing to his recent comments.

Powersportz have taken out 3 potential clubs who can sign Ronaldo by this January

Sporting Lisbon

Sporting is where Ronaldo began his professional career, and it has long been assumed that he will make a trip back there before hanging up his boots. The attacker, who is getting ready to play for Portugal at the 2022 World Cup, is presently seen as the favourite to join the Green and Whites.

A future transfer for Ronaldo has not been ruled out by Sporting president Frederico Varandas, and the club’s head coach Ruben Amorim recently praised the forward.

Ronaldo might continue to compete at a high level in European football by going back to Sporting, but because they were eliminated from the Champions League in the second half of the season, he would not have the opportunity to increase his total there.

Chelsea

Thomas Tuchel, who was the head coach at the time, is thought to have made it clear that he didn’t want the forward when Chelsea were connected with him over the summer.

According to recent sources, current manager Graham Potter is also against the seasoned striker joining the team in January.

Ronaldo might transfer to Stamford Bridge at the beginning of 2023 if Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is successful in his rumoured pursuit of him.

Contrary to Sporting, the Blues did advance to the Champions League’s knockout phase, which may have a significant impact on Ronaldo’s choice about a prospective transfer after the World Cup.

Napoli

Due to the fact that Napoli is presently in first place in Serie A, eight points ahead of AC Milan in second place, the club is appealing to players of all skill levels.

In the meantime, Luciano Spalletti’s team performed admirably in the Champions League group stage, winning five of their six games to finish first in Group A and easily advance to the next round.

In the round of 16 of the European Cup, Napoli will play Eintracht Frankfurt, and given their recent performance, they are defiantly possible dark horses.

The team’s starting center-forward is Victor Osimhen, therefore the club would need to assess whether Ronaldo’s presence may disrupt the team’s rhythm.

However, the Italian team, who is capable of having a fantastic season, would undoubtedly be interested in the opportunity to sign the Portuguese on a free transfer.
