10 – Mohamed Salah
The Egyptian is ranked 10th on this record with 58 assists in 254 appearances for the club. Salah’s assist total during his tenure at Liverpool is sometimes forgotten, despite his tremendous goal total. He has the highest minutes per goal/assist ratio on the list (96).
9 – Trent Alexander-Arnold
He is, unsurprisingly, the only defender to feature on this list, ranked 9th at just the age of 23 assisting 61 goals. Alexander-Arnold, who is still very early in his Liverpool career, will like his prospects of climbing to the very top of this list in the years to come.
8 – Steve Heighway
He was simply one of the most entertaining Liverpool players ever assisting 66 goals, the Irishmen is ranked 8th in the list. The majority of his assists came during the 1971/72 and 1972/1973 seasons, when the flying winger was at his best.
7 – Roberto Firmino
Another standout performer from Jurgen Klopp’s tenure. With 67 assists in 327 appearances the Brazilian is ranked 7th. Firmino, along with Salah and Sadio Mane, made an iconic attacking combination that was arguably underappreciated. He’s played a selfless role at the centre of a devastating attack that wouldn’t have worked as well without his magical abilities.
6 – Kevin Keegan
The Englishman has 72 assists in six seasons, making him one of the best in the league. Ranking 6th in the list. Keegan and Toshack formed an iconic ‘small and giant’ combo, combining for 45 goals in total.
5 – Ian Rush
He is also remembered as one of Liverpool’s top goal providers (346), with 84 assists in 15 seasons with the club. Ranked 5th. His strike partnership with Kenny Dalglish is largely regarded as the best strike tandem in Reds history.
4 – Steve McManaman
McManaman is one of Liverpool’s most enigmatic wingers, so it’s no wonder that he’s high on this list, ranked at 4th with 85 assists. After coming through the Anfield ranks together as youth, he forged an excellent relationship with Robbie Fowler.
3 – John Barnes
He is another of Liverpool’s legendary wingers, and one of only three players in the club’s history to have recorded over 100+ assists. Ranked 3rd with 101 assists. With his speed and cunning, the former England international gave defenders nightmares, scoring 108 goals and assisting 101 times for the club.

The all-around midfielder. Gerrard is Liverpool’s second-best goal maker, with 145 assists in 710 games. Every type of goal imaginable was laid on by the former Reds skipper. Gerrard possessed tremendous passing range and vision, as well as being a set-piece expert.
