Sania Mirza set to make comeback at Hobart International

After staying away from competitive tennis for two years on a maternity break, Saina Mirza is all geared up to make her comeback at the Hobart International in January.

The 33-year-old Indian tennis star, married to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik, last played at China Open in 2017. Sania will team up with the world. no. 38 Nadiia Kichenok of Ukraine.

“I am playing in Hobart, then I am playing the Australian Open,” she said at a press conference. “I am planning to play a tournament in Mumbai, which is a USD 25,000 (ITF women event) next month, but I am 50-50 about it, so let’s see how my wrist behaves. We will see, but Hobart and Australian Open (for sure).”

Sania, who is a six-time Grand Slam titles winner, will pair with American Rajeev Ram for the Australian mixed-open event. She has been practicing hard to get back into shape and form of competitive tennis.
