Cristiano Ronaldo might sign Napoli or Sporting on loan before deadline

Cristiano Ronaldo

According to reports, Jorge Mendes, Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent, is still optimistic that he can get his client out of Manchester United before the transfer window closes. The Portuguese international is thought to have told the Red Devils at the beginning of July that he intended to quit the team this summer.

CR 7 made his will to play in the UEFA Champions League quite clear well before the transfer window started. Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Inter Milan are among the teams thought to have rejected the opportunity to sign him.

Cristiano Ronaldo has participated in each of Man United’s four Premier League games this season, but he has only started once. On Saturday against Southampton, he again sat on the bench.

The 37-year-future old’s is still in doubt, and with Antony from Ajax soon to arrive at Old Trafford, he will have more competition in the final third of the field. The Independent reports that Mendes has not given up on finding a way out, with a loan transfer to Napoli or Sporting Lisbon still being considered as possibilities.

According to the article, Ronaldo’s reported weekly salary of over £500,000 has turned away several clubs who would have been interested in signing him. Any loan agreement would reportedly require Man United to cover a percentage of the Portuguese player’s salary, but Napoli and Sporting are both exploring last-minute moves for the former Real Madrid forward.

Cristiano Ronaldo might be on his way out of Old Trafford very soon

Prior to joining the Red Devils in 2003, Ronaldo began his professional career at Sporting, appearing 31 times for the Green and Whites during the 2002–03 season.

While playing for Juventus, the attacker had a prosperous time in Italy, scoring 101 goals in 134 games and leading the Old Lady to two Serie A championships and the Coppa Italia.

Mendes is rumoured to have contacted Chelsea once more to extend the Blues an opportunity to sign his client before the transfer window closes.

After letting Romelu Lukaku return to Inter Milan on loan and allowing Timo Werner to return to RB Leipzig, Thomas Tuchel’s team is trying to add a center-forward before the transfer deadline.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Barcelona is still being linked to Chelsea, but they are out of time to pursue a move for the former captain of Arsenal.

In Man United’s 2-1 victory against Liverpool on August 22, Ronaldo only played the final four minutes; in contrast, he entered the game for the final 22 minutes of Saturday’s 1-0 victory at Southampton.

The following game for Erik ten Hag’s group is against Leicester City on Thursday night, followed by a visit from Arsenal on Sunday afternoon at Old Trafford.
