Countries’ extraordinary World Cup triumph on one hand, and England cricket official’s failure to curate a pitch for the Women’s Ashes Test in Taunton, on the other hand, seems to be contradictory and considered highly insulting and disgraceful.
England cricket officials have failed to deliver a pitch for first women’s cricket test match. They in fact delivered a worn-out pitch that was used during the 2019 Cricket World Cup for New Zealand Vs. Afghanistan match 40 days’ prior.
This has sparkled anger in the cricket world. Australian cricket guru Peter Lalor outlined the situation as “disgraceful.”
Wisden correspondent Adam Collins recently tweeted: “Meg Lanning confirms that a used pitch is being dished up for them here tomorrow. F*** sake.”
