Bengaluru born girl Brishti Bagchi is on cloud nine from the moment she got the confirmation from Spanish club Madrid Club de Futbol Femenino to join them early next month. And why not, it is a dream for anybody in this world to be deemed eligible to play for them. “Congratulations Brishti Bagchi for this incredible achievement. See you soon in Spain with Madrid Club de Futbol Femenino,” announced the official page of the La Liga along with a photograph of Bagchi.
Bagchi becomes the first Indian to land such a coveted opportunity to play in a top women’s league in Spain. Her pre-season training would commence from August 15 as she would be joining the reserve team of Madrid CFF. The Madrid club was quite impressed with her skills when she trained with them last year. However, this is not the first international exposure for Brishti. She represented the Oklahoma City Women’s football team as a student-athlete earlier. Brishti was helped by a crowd-funding initiative in her mission.
