Liverpool interested in paying £75m for Nicolo Barella

Nicolo Barella to Liverpool

Nicolo Barella, an Inter Milan midfielder, is reportedly one of Liverpool‘s top transfer targets.

Jurgen Klopp has been forced to contemplate rebuilding his first-team squad following an underwhelming Premier League campaign that may not result in Champions League qualifying.

The German has already admitted that changes would be made in midfield as a result of the probable free transfers of Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

James Milner comes into the same category, and Klopp is eager to bring in a replacement due to the ages of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson.

With Liverpool supposedly ruling themselves out of the competition to recruit Jude Bellingham because to Borussia Dortmund’s valuation, other players are becoming more likely to move to Anfield.

Moises Caicedo of Brighton & Hove Albion, Ryan Gravenberch of Bayern Munich, and Matheus Nunes of Wolverhampton Wanderers are among the midfielders connected with a move to Merseyside.

Nicolo Barella to Liverpool – A possibility

According to Sport Mediaset, Liverpool are willing to spend a considerable chunk of their summer budget to sign Barella.

According to the source, Liverpool would be willing to pay up to £75 million for a player who may become available due to Inter’s persistent financial problems.

Barella is regarded as a standout at San Siro, having contributed eight goals and six assists in 39 Serie A and Champions League matches this season.

Two of his goals came in the recent Champions League quarter-final victory against Benfica, which set up a meeting with city rivals AC Milan in the last four.

Despite his status at I Rossoneri and the fact that he has more than three years left on his contract, Barella is one of Inter’s most treasured assets, along with Lautaro Martinez, and could theoretically be used to balance the books.

Barella, a 43-cap Italy international, has scored 19 goals in 178 appearances since joining Inter on loan in 2019.

Although a sale is plausible, Inter also face the prospect of fending off bids for Barella’s midfield teammate Marcelo Brozovic, another player who has played a key role this season albeit as a squad member.
