Manchester City to lock horns with Chelsea in the third round of EFL Cup

In a thrilling Premier League matchup, Manchester City will play Chelsea in the third round of the EFL Cup.

Between 2017 and 2021, Pep Guardiola’s team won the title four times in a row, but Chelsea lost the 2017 championship game against Liverpool on penalties.

The 25 winners from the second round are joined by seven Premier League clubs: Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham, and West Ham.

Manchester United will play Aston Villa, while Liverpool, the defending champions, will host Derby County. Tottenham Hotspur will travel to the City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest, while North London rivals of Spurs, Arsenal have been given an appealing matchup with in-form Brighton & Hove Albion.

3 other Premier League matches feature Bournemouth vs. Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Leeds United, and Newcastle United vs. Crystal Palace.

West Ham United was chosen out of the hat to play Blackburn Rovers in the best of the rest, while Southampton was given a home match against Sheffield Wednesday.

When will the third round of EFL Cup begin and where to watch it?

In the UK, games from the Carabao Cup may be seen on Sky Sports. Matches are often broadcast on Sky Sports Football and streamed live online through Sky Go.

Carabao Cup matches are broadcast on the ESPN network in the United States.

The 2022–23 Carabao Cup began play on August 8, 2022, and it will continue for six months until the final, which will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Wembley Stadium.

The 2022–23 Carabao Cup’s first round was finished by August 12 and the second round will begin this week.

The week beginning November 7, 2022, will see the commencement of the third round of the 2022–23 Carabao Cup also known as the EFL Cup. The third round will feature a total of 16 games.
