Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are allegedly ready to compete with Bayern Munich for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, but the Ligue 1 champions will not be pulled into a bidding battle.
With Spurs’ all-time leading scorer turning 30 on Friday, the forward has been the subject of heavy transfer speculation this summer following another strong season in North London.
Kane scored 30 Premier League goals in 38 starts, second only to Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, his greatest tally since the 2017-18 campaign under Mauricio Pochettino.
The 2022-23 season was also a watershed moment for the striker on the international scene, with his penalty conversion against Italy in March cementing him as England’s all-time greatest scorer.
It has been well reported that Kane is garnering interest both in England and throughout Europe, and according to Sky Sports News, PSG still believes they can buy the star this summer.
Harry Kane not interested in PSG move
It has previously been reported that the Englishman is not interested in moving to Paris, preferring to join Manchester United or Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.
Les Parisiens, who are aware of such reports, are thought not to launch a formal bid for Kane until they receive signals from the player and Spurs that a trade is possible.
As previously stated, Bayern Munich are reportedly keen on Tottenham’s talisman, with head coach Thomas Tuchel seeing the Three Lions star as someone who may fill the vacuum created by Robert Lewandowski’s departure in the summer of 2022.
It has been rumoured that the Bavarians are willing to pay more than €100 million (£86 million) to capture Kane in this window, as Bayern look to fend off Borussia Dortmund’s ongoing bid for the Bundesliga title.
Spurs majority owner Joe Lewis is alleged to have warned chairman Daniel Levy that if the attacker does not agree to new terms in North London, he must sell him this summer.
Kane’s current contract at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium expires in less than a year, meaning the club could lose one of Europe’s best strikers for nothing next summer.
Although PSG is very interested in Kane, the club also has other striker targets in the works, including Atalanta BC forward Rasmus Hojlund.
Denmark international Hojlund is said to have agreed personal terms with the French champions ahead of a possible move to Ligue 1, with Manchester United also keen in the 20-year-old.
