He played brilliantly in the second match of the series being played in Visakhapatnam, on Wednesday. He is second in the list of Indian batsmen scoring the most centuries in a calendar year. Rohit scored 159 runs off 138 balls with the help of 17 fours and five sixes.
Most centuries in a calendar year from India record is in the name of Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar scored 9 centuries in a calendar year in 1998. At the same time, Saurabh Ganguly had scored seven ODIs in the year 2000.
