As Time magazine compiles its first “Time 100 Next”, a listing that would include 100 rising stars from a myriad of disciplines like business, entertainment, sports, science, politics, and health among others, Indian sprinter Dutee Chand also makes it to the coveted list.
The star sprinter is also elated for managing to bag a spot in the list, which is a matter of great pride for anyone. “Ecstatic and humbled,” Dutee Tweeted. “Honoured to be in Time 100 Next 2019. On the track, I’ll sprint, off the track, I’ll fight.”
Many people have lauded the athlete for entering this exclusive list adorned by the who’s who of the world in their respective fields. “She is making proud all of us,” said Olympian Anuradha Biswal. “She is indeed a rising star and an inspiration for the younger generation.”
