Tottenham have no interest in selling Harry Kane amid Bayern interest

Harry Kane Bayern Munich

After all the transfer saga of Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski, the German champions are now trying to lure in Spurs Harry Kane.

Harry Kane, the forward for Tottenham and England, is being looked at by Bayern Munich as a possible Robert Lewandowski replacement. Meanwhile, Robert Lewandowski is seeking to join Barcelona before the transfer market closes.

Thus, it’s expected that the Polish international will leave the Bundesliga winners this summer. Lewandowski, who was once again in superb form at the club level last season, netting 50 goals in 46 appearances across all competitions.

But he is reportedly being considered as a potential replacement by Bayern, who see Kane as a feasible option. Fabrizio Romano, an Italian journalist, claims that there has been “no debate, negotiation, or talk” regarding Kane since Spurs view him as “untouchable”.

Thus, the London club does not want to listen any offers even if it’s a record transfer fee as they won’t trade for any amount. In order to keep Kane with the team till the end of his career, Romano further asserts that the North London giants intend to begin contract negotiations ASAP.

Kane almost left Tottenham last summer as Manchester City made a strong effort to get him to the Etihad Stadium. Though the 28-year-old was ultimately outbid by the Citizens, the English champions have since signed Erling Braut Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

Kane finished the 2021–22 season with 50 appearances for Spurs in all competitions and 27 goals and 10 assists, including 17 goals and 9 assists in PL. While Antonio Conte’s team placed fourth in the Premier League standings last term.

Will Harry Kane leave Tottenham for Bayern Munich?

It was believed that the striker’s desire to leave Tottenham last summer was partly motivated by his ambition to continue competing for major honours.

Kane is reportedly now convinced that Spurs can compete for trophies under Conte, who has support from fresh additions made during this summer’s transfer window.

This summer, Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, and Clement Lenglet all moved to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The team is still rumoured to be looking to add more new players.

The current Spurs contract for Kane is set to expire in June 2024, and a new deal would certainly keep the England international far into his 30s.

In his current 386 appearances for Spurs across all competitions, the center-forward has scored 248 goals and provided 59 assists.

Kane has now scored more goals than any other Spurs player in each of the previous eight seasons. He is only 18 goals behind Jimmy Greaves, who has scored 266 goals for the team overall.

As a potential successor for Lewandowski, Bayern has also been connected with a move for the uneasy Cristiano Ronaldo, but it is understood that, despite recent rumours, the German champions do not currently see the Manchester United front as a target.
