After being vanquished in two ATP finals in a row, Daniil Medvedev finally got the monkey off his back by clinching the Cincinnati Masters on Sunday. He edged past David Goffin 7-6, (7/3), 6-4 to take home the title. Seeded ninth, Russian Medvedev lifted his first Masters 1000 trophy after narrowly missing as runners-up in Washington and Montreal respectively. He’d lost to Nick Kyrgios in Washington and Nadal in Montreal.
