Never felt burdened by criticism, says chairman of India’s selection committee MSK Prasad

MSK Prasad’s tenure as chairman of India’s senior selection committee has allegedly come to an end. It is just 3 years back he took over one of the most high-profile jobs in world cricket.

However, MSK Prasad’s lack of international experience had always been a talking point even after all the positive results the team has gained during his tenure. His colleagues, including Devang Gandhi, Jatin Paranjpe, Sharandeep Singh, and Gagan Khoda have relatively lesser international exposure.

Amongst the 5 members of the panel, Prasad is said to be the most experienced member with 6 Tests and 17 ODIs. Besides, the international experience of India’s senior selection committee includes 13 Tests and 31 ODIS. However, out of 5, 2 don’t even have any Test match experience. They were even labelled ‘lightweight’. ‘Micky Mouse panel’. In fact, former batting great Sunil Gavaskar called them ‘lame duck’.
